If the academic development is seen in the form of marks on report cards, the effect is limited to passing the examination only. It is temporary.

Characteristics of a student :
Self-study is limited only to Homework and Examinations.
- One’s approach to study is limited to rote learning.
- One puts stress on memory
- One starts studying to please the teacher / parents.
- One’s original thinking is suppressed.
- One may become a follower and not the leader in one’s field.
- One is lost in the masses

INVISIBLE:
The development that takes place by doing project work, participating in science exhibition, adventure, excursions in the lap of Nature, debate, essay writing, reading and browsing in the library / on internet etc., is INVISIBLE. It is observed by experts only. This development helps one not only to score high marks but helps in the long run, too, when the child enters professional life.

Characteristics of a student :
Self-study goes beyond Homework and Examination.
- One’s approach to learning is not only memory based but remembering after understanding
- One puts stress on reasoning and analytical thinking.
- One studies for self satisfaction without any obligation to please elders.
- One is able to use one’s creativity effectively.
- One becomes a leader in one’s chosen field.
- One stands out in the masses.

There is an old saying

I Hear - I Forget
I See - I Remember
I Do - I Learn

We believe that it is not rote learning but creativity which has been the greatest asset of a person in this ever competitive world, which we know better as ‘rat race’.

To give children the first hand experience of the basic scientific facts, we have established a Science Park at Heritage Valley where learning does not take place just within the four walls but outside the classroom in the lap of Nature.

At Heritage Valley teachers are just facilitators. They provide children opportunity to unearth their hidden talent not through rote learning but through exploration, discovery and experiments in the realm of Science, known as Physics, Biology or Chemistry. Students are trained to Objective, to Plan, to utilise Resources, to Execute, to Evaluate, to provide Remedial methods, to work in Sync - all the elements which are needed in every profession to make a fine career.

Someone said that the greatest thing a teacher / parent can give a child is the activity which improves his / her imagination.

An engineer ... a doctor needs imagination ... a businessman or every professional needs imagination

The learning that takes place at Heritage Valley –The Indian School in harmony with Nature helps a child to improve his imagination by involving him to explore and analyze the basics facts through Science, Mathematics and Geography Parks.

Let not Childhood be turned into forced Adulthood.

For further enquiries, email us at info@sherwoodeducation.com
